So I'm wondering if there's going to be a new MegaKerma update.
I've been using this program for about half a year now, and it's amazing.
But I'm wondering if there's going to be any new updates???
I have a few suggestions if there will be a new version:

-With the 'billboarding' option, there should also be the option to apply it to either the x or y dimensions, or both

-A very simple to use but effective A.I system. This is how it would work:
In a separate AI menu, you should be able to choose whether it is a good or bad AI.
If it's a good one, give the options to have it follow you, talk to you using the dialogue system, etc.
If it's a bad one, you can upload separate animations for it under the labels 'walk/run, attack, idle' etc
So it would be a very simple menu in which you choose the behavior of the AI, then select the appropriate animations for it
(The animations would have to be pre-made by the user in Blender or a similar program)
I understand this may be hard to code, but I think it would really benefit users of MegaKerma, especially those who want to make horror games with AI etc.

-Cutscene support would be good, if possible

-And also perhaps an upgrade to the power of the engine itself (if possible) would be great.

Thanks :)

Yeh it kinda is, some of us are still around, but pretty much everyone else either stopped using it or moved on....
Hope Zoltan is still watching the forums now and then.

As long as I do not make my game on this engine, I will not leave this forum.
P.S. If someone needs help, I can help.

Well first off thanks for all the replies :D
I know that it's abandoned, but it's amazing and i would love to see it re-booted if people started using it more.
I plan to make some games with it sometime, I'll most certainly upload them to this forum.

Well I'd love some help with a few different things, first off is there any way for me to make a basic enemy that follows and shoots using KermaScript? It doesn't matter if it's a 3D model or just a 2D billboarding enemy, any help would be awesome...

I'm just working on AI. There is progress, but small. So far, the enemy can only follow the player until he is in sight of the enemy. And when a player leaves the zone, the enemy stops. There are yet unsolvable problem: the enemy is able to fly and walk through objects.
With regard to the attacks of the enemy player. AI will in the likeness of zombies. The enemy comes to player and begins his attack. Enemies who can shoot at the player, it will be difficult to make due to the small number of available scripting commands.
Once the turn to make a normal AI, I will upload it here on the forum to "tutorials." There just is my theme with AI.

Ok, well I hope you figure something out, really the engine needs a good update with a simple AI system...
Basically I have a couple of awesome horror games I want to make, and I can make some awesome atmospheres with MegaKerma, I just need an enemy.
All I really want though is a 2D billboarding enemy that follows you and shoots at you...
But I know that with the engine's limited ability that'd be hard...

If there were script command "GET OBJECT POSITION" and "ATTACHOBJECTTOOBJECT", the fire of the enemy would be far easier to implement ... :(

Hmm yeah, that would be good :p
I have recently discovered Silent Walk FPS Creator, which has almost all of the updates for MegaKerma I mentioned here (and more) but I prefer the layout for MegaKerma to the one for SW FPSC, because it's quicker to use (a lot of the handy keyboard shortcuts aren't in FPSC :( )

Well that was a bad choice on Zoltan's part, with a bit more polish (and perhaps some of the updates mentioned in my post), Megakerma could easily be a popular game-creation tool, it's certainly got everything going for it...

Maybe if people start making games with mega kerma zoltan would work on it again. Small simple games can be made with what's already here.

Looking forward to your game :D
Post a link here too when it's done ;)
If people start making more games, someone should find a way to contact Zoltan so we can convince him to update the engine :D
I've got some awesome ideas for atmospheric horror games that would work well with MegaKerma, but I'm too busy to actually get started at the moment :/

BillyJoeBob, describe us your ideas as time will be? Maybe someone of us will be able to implement them in life :)

Thankyou very much for the kind offer but at the moment I don't think I'll accept, as I would really like to fully make them myself/with a small team of friends, and in fact the main idea I have might be made in Unreal Engine 4 instead due to some missing features of MegaKerma e.g being able to implement video cutscenes etc, but there are some more simple ones I'd like to make in MegaKerma which may be done sometime in the future.
If I ever need help, I will be sure to let everyone know and I'm more than happy to credit anyone who helps out :)
