Post subject:  What do you have trouble moddeling?

heres a question, this is finals week for me, then im off to summer break aside from summer gym in 2 weeks which will only by a half a day for 12 days. I will have time to plan out some tutorials and make some tutorials for modeling within blender. I feel that I can help anyone who dosent even know how to model make game ready content ready to import into sw1 or 2!

now of course, i will try to tackle enemies, i should start with that first. but after enemies, what are you guys interested in learning how to model?

heres some ideas:
guns
swords
cars
other vehicles
office models
futuristic objects/ sci fi models
urban industrial models
farm models
ww1-2 era models
medieval
demonic
lab
greek/roman mythology
casino/ bar
toon

Stickied.

I tend to be alright at modeling, but some things, like human faces, can be troublesome.

going from the body to the head to a detailed face can be pretty hard. I personally recommend just using a texture over a flat face for people and such, but maybe like huge statues or face monsters, i can make something along those lines

Could you do some tutorials regarding uvmapping weapons and general objects (buildings, modern props, vehicles, etc) with the different types of uvmapping?

By the way good luck with gym! :D :D :D

EDIT

Oh yeah, Cars and characters are ones which I find difficult, basically because I don't know the style of how where to start and make sure that the object doesn't look blocky. :P

uv mapping is an easy one now, but making your textures look nice is the hard part really, il go over it of course

Post subject:  Re: What do you have trouble moddeling?

lol you could try making a tutorial about everything in the list XD
just start at the top and move your way down :)

i would like some demonic stuff..

Post subject:  Re: What do you have trouble moddeling?

Il see, i want to start out with basic enemy's with standing, walking, attack, and dying animation (uv mapped of course)

I can make a detailed tutorial on uv mapping, though im not the most experienced, i understand it well

i need to figure out what i want to do for demonic...

Post subject:  Re: What do you have trouble moddeling?

well iv started working on some concept art outlines for the enemy tutorial, though i may redo it

i have a few ideas for things you may see, but i need to practice textured and make sure im all good on that

now while i work on that, i may skip ahead and maybe do a basic uv mapping tutorial, on just the uv mapping part, making a uv map and all

Post subject:  Re: What do you have trouble moddeling?

More updates: it turns out i need to re learn rigging due to auto rigging dragging all the wrong parts along

the good news, im going to work on a tutorial today for modeling animated objects, in this case a game ready axe weapon. we'll go through modeling, uv mapping, appending models, hopefully rigging if i can get manual rigging right, and animating :D

Post subject:  Re: What do you have trouble moddeling?

ok can't wait till its done

i have so much problems with giving a bone structure/rigging it.
i cant make a proper animation... yeh with mesh animation only lol

Post subject:  Re: What do you have trouble moddeling?

the tutorial is recorded, now i just have to do a large amount of editing and the tutorial will be uploaded either tonight or tomorrow on youtube and turbosquid for download

we model an axe, uv map it, and animate it!

the autoweights work great since its only a single bone

Post subject:  Re: What do you have trouble moddeling?

i sure hope you make a multi bone aswell :P

Post subject:  Re: What do you have trouble moddeling?

looking back at this one, I am really un satisfied with the end result, i will release this as a scrap tut on turbo squid, but I want to redo this tut cleaner, I can do this monday, but for those who want it now, it will be uploaded to turbosquid tonight

sorry, but the modeling was really sloppy, and so was the uv mapping

Post subject:  Re: What do you have trouble moddeling?

uploading now, it will be pretty big, i didnt cut anything out so its around 40 mins, you can learn some things from it, but i have an idea of what to do better in the redo, and I can also show the animated models in action with a script i found i uploaded to blenderartist a while ago, so look forward to that, and the scrap will be edited into this post in like 20 mins

http://www.turbosquid.com/FullPreview/I ... /ID/608599

there it is, again, i will redo this

Post subject:  Re: What do you have trouble moddeling?

it is done, just needs final editing, and will be posted

it will be around 55 minutes, so get ready to sit back for a while, but it will show you how to make a full game ready model from scratch

Post subject:  Re: What do you have trouble moddeling?

ah, editing is done, now I just need to cut this video up into 4 parts, unfortunately youtube dosent allow videos past 15 mins for any account type anymore, but I will get this thing cut up good tomorrow and post it, and upload it to turbosquid aswell, its only 132 mb

Post subject:  Re: What do you have trouble moddeling?

well the tutorial has been done for a few weeks now, iv been stumped on cutting it into 4 pieces so it would meet youtubes time limits, sorry....

would anyone know of any software that can do this?

also, thinking of some possible 5-10 minute tutorials on rigging, uv mapping, and other individual things im getting better at, so look out for those :D

Post subject:  Re: What do you have trouble moddeling?

perhaps just windows movie maker? (if it only needs to cut)
But isn't it also handy to have a .pdf document? (the key things)
for offline use :)
