urgh man 2d editopr weas alright but its too crappy.

Lets face it 3d editor makes life alot easier because you can see how everything looks when you edit it in real time rather than having to edit a value then test, come out then retest again etc.

With this just click and you see how it looks. I don't see what the fuss is about lol XD

3d FTW!

Besides, a 3D editor will be better when you stack rooms on top of eachother... like Percsich said you can just look at the level top-down and that should work.

There are so many things i catch when i re-watch the movie... i love how you can just modify the dimensions of the objects and such right there, and see the effects. I also LOVE how you can turn on the lighting effects while editing so you can see what's going on, lighting wise, when you are making your maps!

So many things, so MUCH time... I'm doing as much advertising that i can (banners, word of mouth... i even got banned from several games advertising for this... i get banned, but i guarantee...i'll be getting many hundreds of people.)

I personally think it should be the full version with a non blinding splash, just so new people can see all the features before buying if they want. Or you could do a 30 trial were you can make a full game, save it and run it with a watermark but can't publish it. Like the current demo for FPSC XP.

Just a suggestion, after all. Its Perscich's decision.

I agree with Karawasa, one of the best things about SW is that the free version isn't a trial.

It would be stupid to make it a full version for free. I mean whats the point of bying it?

I think it would be easier to just release a small trial version which has the features but can't compile EXE files.

Also that should be done through code so the trial can't be "hacked" to allows you to compile a nexe if the ocmmand isnt in the code anyways ;)

Besides I'm sure has an idea anyway so just sit tight and wait and see =)

I don't inderstand why Perc want money for SW. It's not so good program to demand payment. I'm not telling that SW2 is crapy, but I don't think it's worthy of paying some money.

btw, I don't understand your way of thinking - I'm asking Perc about limitations, not for your opinion about them.

It is not about the money and the quality of the program. It is about the fun and entertainment, that I am trying to give you all. This requires time and effort. I could have spent this time with other things instead of coding, but then Silent Walk didn't exist, and there were nothing, that you could ask for free. Even this post.

So... you insult his programs and then complain that they aren't free?

That's silly. How can you know what adjustments to make in your game if you don't have a final product to test and polish?

Others argue incorrectly that they don't want their product to be associated with half-baked amateur games. Such games get no farther than the first negative review and are then ranked and ignored, while thoughtful game makers study the medium rather than the material. So it's like politics, where any publicity is good publicity.

You have to understand...like it or not, this is a business... it is a source of income from something he works on.
If you don't think its worth buying, then don't buy it. If you don't think the quality of the creator is good enough, then first, you need to get some help, and second, go do something else!

Percsich is doing things HIS way, because it is HIS project.... If you don't like it, you can leave, or make it yourself!

The fact is, people like it, and see that it has what they want, and they WILL pay money for it. You gotta do what works, and this works!

Might I request that the main grid have a small amount of transparency added to it? This would aid in alignment with 2nd level down. Not a lot of transparency as this would be info overload. Just enough to see a faint ghost.

U dudes are all veterans of SW, if u bought it then thier'd be no reason to argue about how he should make the trial version, if u haven't bought/pre-ordered it, idk what u guys are waiting for (unless u don't hava credit card).

ppl will be attracted to buy SW no matter how he makes it, SW1.1 and the SW2 demos are testament to this.

If he has the the time he'll probably make a SW2 game like he did with 'midnight offices' for SW1.1, that will display and show off all of SW2's features; this alone will attract thousands/millions if he posts it on various game related sites.

Never underestimate the internet

You should make a custom script option, where people can edit the scripts slightly, for improved AI, or cutscenes or stuff.

Just limit what they can do. No BIN commands, no using variables like the registration one, etc.

I hope he makes a game like midnight office for SW2 It was and probably still is the best. He built the engine so he knows all trick I would expect nothing less than an amazing game.
